• Vaccinate your animals and keep them away from wildlife that can spread the disease. Rabies is 100% preventable!
  • Reduce the possibility of exposure to rabies by not letting your pets roam free. In Ventura County, the most common animals with rabies are bats, skunks and raccoons.
  • Even indoor cats should be vaccinated for rabies. There’s always the chance, however small, that an indoor-only cat might sneak outdoors through an open window or door.
  • Be sure your pet is current on vaccinations. This will prevent illness, the spread of illness and keep your pet healthy. It’s also required by law.
